Distress Caused by Abortion Can Linger for Years, Study Says -- GOPUSA

(CNSNews.com) -- A new study in Europe has found that women can experience feelings of anxiety, guilt and shame years after having an abortion, a finding in line with arguments long advanced by prolifers.
Comparing women who had a miscarriage with those who had an abortion, researchers at the University of Oslo learned that while members of the former group were found to be more distressed in the short-term, the longer-term mental effects were more marked among those who had an abortion.
The results were published in the December edition of BMC Medicine, a London-based medical journal.
Ten days after the loss of the child, 47.5 percent of women in the study who had miscarried suffered from some degree of mental distress, compared with 30 percent of those in the abortion group.
After six months, the proportion of those who had a miscarriage and were still suffering from distress had dropped to 22.5 percent, and after five years to just 2.6 percent.
By contrast, of those who had an abortion 25.7 percent were still affected after six months, and 20 percent - one in five - still experienced distress after five years.
"Women who had an abortion experienced high levels of anxiety, feelings of guilt, shame and relief and had to make efforts to avoid thoughts about the event," the researchers said.
Their work highlighted the importance of providing women with information about the psychological effects of losing a baby, whether as a result of a miscarriage of abortion.
"The difference in the courses of responses may partly result from the different characteristics of the two pregnancy termination events," the journal concluded.
Abortion Concern is an organization in New Zealand which, while not promoting a prolife or pro-abortion view, believes women are too often not given the type of information they need to make an informed decision when considering whether or not to have an abortion.
It says the real "right to choose" should include the right to choose not to have an abortion, and also encourages women who have had abortions to tell their stories.
Abortion Concern says many women suffer ill-effects after abortions. It lists some of the symptoms of post-abortion distress as anxiety, guilt, regret, sadness, depression, inability to concentrate, lowered self-esteem, substance abuse, eating disorders, sexual dysfunction, compulsions to touch or avoid babies, and suicidal impulses.

A Prophetic Perspective of the Recent Falling Marble:
Is it possible that Vermont and her neighbor are a key to the rebuilding of this pediment?
The marble used in building the Supreme Court was actually quarried in Vermont and If you don't know... (architecturally) a pediment is a fancy peak of a building which contains the sculptured facade.
Last Monday a basketball sized piece of Vermont marble fell off the U.S. Supreme Court Bldg. This piece fell from above the figure of Authority, near the peak of the building's pediment, and to the
right of the figure of Liberty, who has the scales of justice on her lap! After bouncing off the lower frame of the pediment, (approximately at the words "Under"), this piece crumbled into approximately 40
pieces before pelleting the steps of the entrance of the building!
This event occurred two days before the court was to hear the New Hampshire case on Parental Notification (Ayotte v. Planned Parenthood of New England).
This is the first abortion related case to be heard in five years and the second case since the 1992 Planned Parenthood v. Casey reaffirmed the so called Constitutional protection.
Could the Lord be giving us a sign through this seemingly natural act?!
While in Vermont in 2004, Chuck Pierce said that Vermont is the "sleeping Beauty" of the nation... and proclamations began to be made that she is awakening! Like the Vermont marble, the hidden beauty in the venation shall be seen!
Vermont shall awaken to see the beauty of the face of the Lord and shall become a reflection of the face of His beauty to the entire nation! The ugliness that has originated from VT shall be turned back and once again VT shall be a leader of righteousness and justice to the nation!
During Chuck's recent October visit to Vermont we declared the release of the blowing of the North Wind! This wind is the wind of REFORMATION and REVIVAL that will sweep this nation.
Beginning in the early 70's, VT has been used as a test state to spread a liberal agenda to the rest of the country! (Google for the article: "Taking Over Vermont" by Richard Pollak in April, 1972 Playboy Magazine)
Wouldn't it be like the Lord to initiate reversals from origination points! Think about it... New England, the roots of "the Great Reformation." Certainly God has (as we say) a sense of humor, and He has done this before! I believe that this wind has already blown through New Hampshire and has made its way to D.C.!
Don't forget that in 1777, Vermont was the first territory to abolish slavery within its own limits and on Dec. 9, 1820 was one one of the first to declare war upon it without! We must be mindful of this and redig the wells of abolitionist revival! As Will Ford says "Somebody should drink of this well."
Planned ParentHOOD's VT Connection
When I began this article I was unaware, but after more news was released about the upcoming case... I discovered that Planned Parenthood of Northern New England is the lead plaintiff in the N.H. Parental Notification case that was heard at the Supreme Court on Nov. 30th. Coincidentally, they are based in Williston, Vermont and also have 27 (so called Health Clinics) in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.
This is the connection with the falling VT marble at the Supreme Court last Monday! THE ROOTS ARE IN VT!
Vermont will also be hearing a "Death with Dignity" and possibly our own Parental Notification bill in this next VT legislative session beginning in January. I believe there is a reversal of the direction of these evils from VT and NH and it will begin to liberate the rest of our country!
What about the granite State our (neighbors), and what does this have to do with falling marble at the Supreme Court and sweeping winds?
Two years ago, "the Old Man of the Mountain" mysteriously lost his face when the symbol of the New Hampshire state fell off the side of Profile Mountain in a landslide (significant?) Was there a prophetic significance of the old stubborn, isolated and courageous man's face falling off on May 3, 2003?
N.H.'s FACIAL CHALLENGE
I believe God had given a sign that N.H. was no longer to be independent and stubborn and that the strongholds of religion had broken off! They were given an opportunity to "Live free or die", which takes on a new meaning when you look at it in the context of "Choose you this day whom you will serve"... and "TODAY I have set before you LIFE and DEATH... CHOOSE LIFE." New Hampshire has long resisted any abortion restrictions!
Amazingly the NH falling event happened the month before the New Hampshire Legislature was considering the Parental Notification Bill which is currently being reviewed by the U.S. Supreme Court! The bill was signed by Governor Benson on June 19, 2003!
I believe the prophetic connection and significance of this symbol representing "the granite state" falling off and the recent U.S. SUPREME COURT "Vermont marble" falling incident is in the legal term Facial Challenge!
The term Facial Challenge is a legal term. It means that a law must be accepted "at Face Value" as written and must be able to be applied in every situation or the whole bill is thrown out. It is also referred to as the "Salerno rule" after the 1987 case which applies in most other cases. New Hampshire states that the case should not be governed by the "no set of circumstances" standard articulated in United States v. Salerno, 481 U.S. 739 (1987).
The law would also be a step towards reversing Roe v. Wade, since the bill defines a fetus as "any individual human organism from fertilization until birth."
God is speaking through New Hampshire's humility in upholding parental notification. The involvement of God's ordained structure (Parents in the family)...will ultimately lead to the preserving our society in America. Parental authority must be upheld by the states and most importantly the U.S. Supreme Court. Parents must be informed of a pregnant minors intentions to have an abortion... to enable otherwise (by Law) is to undermine the family and to place the mother and life of the baby at risk! In a society where a minor cannot even be dispensed an aspirin by the school nurse without parental permission... Will we allow our young women to have a medical procedure with the possibilities of complications as well as lasting physical and emotional scars? Pregnancy is a stressful and confusing time for youths who need family support and guidance in their decision making.
Massachusetts and other states already have Notification laws which have proven constitutionally as long as teens have recourse to lower courts in lieu of parental notification. This is not the the sticking point in question in this Supreme Court case.
Of course, we know that Planned ParentHOOD wants to prevent and do away with any law which places an accountability from them to inform others of what they really are doing! They want to stop all legislation which hinders their ability to perform abortions and continue to sway the vulnerable into their mass propaganda lies.
At question in the N.H. Law, is that it does not have an exemption for medical emergencies (the smokescreen) which realistically, is only a possibility in a small fraction of the cases to which it applies. The claim is that of protecting a minors health, when we know it is really to protect women's Reproductive health and not a particular young minor woman's health! Who are they trying to fool? More women are put into jeopardy everyday through their procedures... and they are insistent that a young minor may become sterile if her abortion is postponed to make a phone call!
In the meantime, parents have not been notified, and a countless # of babies have been lost since the New Hampshire Legislators passed the Law two years ago!
Our Prayers should continue to be that the Justices allow the Salerno Rule to be applied! This will allow other individual cases to challenge (the "undue burden" of women's health- the standard set forth by Justice O'Connor), and allow cases to be tested on an individual basis!
Lets continue to Pray for this N.H. case which started 11/30. Pray for the Justices, the appointment of Judge Samuel Alito and that Justice O'Connor is not on the court when the verdict is written in March!
I believe this case is the beginning of the removal of the facade of Deception that will allow abortion to be seen at face value for what it really is!
Interestingly, on the Nov. 30 (the day of this Court case)... other news articles were The First Face Transplant, and Children's Bodies Identified: Authorities discuss two N.H. children found in Ohio who had been missing since 2003. Also on Nov. 28, 2000 the Supreme Court agreed to hear Bush v. Gore!
I believe that God is shouting at us!... Just as He changed the face of "The Old Man"... God is changing the face (facade) of the Supreme Court and will cause true justice to be framed in!
Pray that the winds of reformation will sweep and revive the face of America!

The constitutionality of the law is being challenged by Planned Parenthood.
Defending the law is the Christian Legal Society (CLS), along with the Alliance Defense Fund, the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Christian Medical Association, the Catholic Medical Association, the National Association of Evangelicals, and Concerned Women for America.
According to a press release on the Christian Wire Service, the brief filed by the CLS "sets forth medical evidence refuting Planned Parenthood's contention that young girls must obtain immediate abortions whenever acute medical complications occur during pregnancy.
The brief demonstrates that abortion can pose a greater risk to a young mother's health than continuing the pregnancy."
Steven H. Aden, Chief Litigation Counsel of CLS said, "New Hampshire's statute properly balances the role of parents, the best interests of young girls and appropriate medical considerations."

Finnish Study Shows Women's Suicide Rates Highest after an Abortion

Finland's National Research and Development Center for Welfare and Health (STAKES), is the author of a study published in the European Journal for Public Health, which states that "deaths from suicide, accidents and homicide are 248% higher in the year following an abortion," among women of reproductive age 15 - 49 when compared to those who have not been pregnant in the year prior.
The 13-year study also found that a "majority of the extra deaths among women who had abortions were due to suicide. The suicide rate among women who had abortions was six times higher than that of women who had given birth in the prior year and double that of women who had miscarriages."
The report went on to state that "while the risk of death from suicide, accidents, and homicide was highest among women who had abortions within the prior year, the risk of death was lowest among women who gave birth within the prior year, who had less than half the death rate of women who had not been pregnant."
Along with that study, another was conducted over an 8-year period, on the death records linked to medical payments for birth and abortion for 173,000 women in California. Researchers found women who had an abortion were 62 percent more likely to die than those who had delivered babies.

“It would save millions of babies per year. So many girls have no idea that this is an option. It would be such an awesome positive for college campuses.”
Glessner worries that disarray in the Senate and lack of leadership in the GOP could hinder the bill’s progress.
“I hate to be negative, but we’ve had other initiatives that I frankly, there’s no reason it couldn’t or shouldn’t pass, but it just sits around Congress with nobody really steering it through and taking a leadership role on it.”
With the Congressional session wrapping up soon, it may be next year before the Act can be put to a vote; too late for thousands of unborn babies.

Dr. George believes that the long-term goal of many of the embryonic researchers is "to create an industry in harvesting late embryonic and fetal body parts”.*
Imagine an industry that grows babies till they are 5 months or older and then uses their body parts for medical purposes. These researchers don't dare to openly admit to this barbaric practice because they know there would be a public outrage. Instead, their strategy is to sway public opinion by promoting the “promised benefits” of embryonic stem cell research.
Scientists are currently engaged in many types of stem cell research. The top three are adult stem cell research, nuclei transfer cloning and embryonic stem cell research.
Before we look at these types of research let review some basic biology. If you take a human egg from a mother and fertilize it with a father’s sperm, the moment the sperm cell penetrates the mother’s egg, something amazing happens. The DNA in the egg is completely and uniquely changed. DNA is kind of like a biological computer code. It’s the directions the cell’s follow to create a human being.
When the mothers egg is fertilized it becomes a human embryo. This new person now has half of the mothers DNA and half of the fathers DNA. This new little person now has a DNA code that is completely different from anyone else in the world. If you have siblings, they also share half of each of your parents DNA, but it’s not exactly the same half that you have!
In the bible it says “a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.”**
DNA shows that this is exactly what happens. Each child shares half of their design code from their father and the other half from their mother. It’s true, everyone in the world is entirely unique!
Stem cells are specialized cells that can become virtually any type of human cell. If your DNA instructs them to become a liver, they will. If your DNA instructs them to become a kidney they will.
In embryonic stem cell research the stem cells are taken from a human embryo. The process destroys the embryo. To date there have been no cures from embryonic stem cell research in spite of millions of dollars spent by private research corporations. California also spends 300 million dollars a year.
Another type of stem cell research is nuclei transfer cloning. All human cells consist of different parts. The place in our cells where the DNA can be found is called the nucleus. To achieve this type of cloning researchers take a human egg and remove the nuclei. That egg no longer has any DNA information. Next we take a cell from a adult human being. The egg and the adult cell are placed side by side. A small amount of electricity is run through the two cells. The two cells will fuse together into one cell. The egg now has the entire DNA from the adult cell. This egg if allowed to grow will become an exact duplicate of the adult that supplied the cell. He will be younger, but a twin of the adult cell donor.
In New Jersey, “it's now legal to create a human cloned embryo and gestate it up to the point of birth.” "If you harvest the tissues before the clone is born, you're still within New Jersey law." ***
The other type of stem cell research is adult stem cell research. One way to gather adult stem cells is to remove them from a living human adult, causing no real harm to the person donating the adult stem cells. Dr. Nagy Habib, is a surgeon who works at the London's Imperial College in Great Britain. He has taken adult stem cells from his own patients' blood and re-inserted the cells into the patients' livers. Within two months, the majority of the patients treated by Dr. Habib showed considerable improvement in liver function. Those patients who showed no improvement in their disease did not get worse.*
Clearly God is blessing adult stem cell research.
There have been about 65 successful treatments found through adult stem cell research. There have been no cures found with embryonic stem cell research. Why is the medical and research industry continuing to downplay the benefits of adult stem cell research? Perhaps Dr. George’s conclusion is true, that the ultimate goal of those in favor of embryonic stem cell research is to gradually desensitize the public to the idea of body part harvesting. May God have mercy on our nation.
We as the Church of Christ must stand against this with all we possess.

The Unborn Child Pain Awareness Act was considered by members of the U.S. Congress yesterday.

SAN FRANCISCO, California, October 21, 2005, (LifeSiteNews.com) --- Last year, on Monday, March 29, three separate lawsuits were launched against the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act signed into law on November 5, 2003. The judges in New York, Nebraska and California ruled in favor of the plaintiffs, stating that the ban was unconstitutional. The Bush administration yesterday urged a California federal appeals court to overturn the decision in that state.
The procedure in question is carried out in the second trimester where the living fetus is partially removed from the womb, and its skull is punctured or crushed.
The Government is arguing that the infanticide type of killing is never medically necessary and therefore does not limit a woman's options for an abortion.
Planned Parenthood, however, is arguing that doctors would be intimidated into not performing any abortions if the act was reinstated.
The rulings of the appeals courts in the three jurisdictions is of great interest. The Bush administration has already asked the Supreme Court to review the Nebraska decision. Montgomery, Alabama, the "cradle of the civil rights movement, is in the news again, but this time it has nothing to do with racial rioting, a la the 1960's. Quite the opposite. Dubbed the "One Montgomery" movement, at least two churches in the area are preparing to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the bus boycott set off by Rosa Parks' arrest by promoting racial harmony through the Body of Christ.
The citywide movement is being led by Fresh Anointing International Church, a mostly black congregation, notes an Agape Press report, and First Baptist Church, a mostly white congregation. Reportedly, the two churches have already distributed 10,000 black and white wristbands bearing the words "One Montgomery" and also plan to make 10,000 black and white crosses for people to place in their yards as symbols of Christian unity.
"When the world comes to Montgomery, it would be fantastic if the international media -- which will be looking for stories -- will see thousands of black and white crosses all over this region," explains First Baptist Pastor Jay Wolf. "And those crosses will activate what Jesus said in John 12:31 -- 'If I be lifted up, I will draw all men to Myself.'"
The goal of the One Montgomery movement, Wolf notes, is to have black and white churches functioning as one and striving for racial reconciliation and harmony. "It's our goal to make a statement about racial reconciliation and pray that it will be catalytic to revival," he says.

As to some isolated criticism that the focus on black-white racial reconciliation is too narrow and not inclusive, Wolf points out, "Of course, the issue in Montgomery is not between Hispanics or Orientals; the demographics [in Montgomery] would be black and white." If black and white churches can function together under the banner of the cross, he asserts, then "the other issues will take care of themselves."
Pastor Kyle Searcy, the black pastor spearheading the effort alongside Wolf, prays that reconciliation will open the door for revival. "I really do believe that God is waiting for His body, His church, to come together a lot more, and a lot of the things that He's going to do in terms of the great harvest and in terms of massive revival in this country are going to be predicated upon us coming together as one."
Says Searcy, "I believe One Montgomery is the foundation of what God wants to do in every city of the United States."

Norma McCorvey, "Roe" of Roe V. Wade, now Pro-Life Will Challenge Her Former Attorney

According to Christine Melchor, Executive Director of the Houston Coalition for Life, Norma McCorvey, the now Pro-Life "Roe" of Roe v. Wade, will give her testimony and will publicly challenge her former lawyer, Sarah Weddington to address her unanswered questions regarding the landmark case. This challenge will be issued during a press conference at 6:30 PM on Saturday, October 15, 2005 on the public property outside of the Hilton Post Oak (formerly the Doubletree) 2001 S. Post Oak Blvd in the Galleria during the Planned Parenthood Annual Fundraiser at which Weddington is the keynote speaker.
Norma McCorvey said, "In 1972, Sarah Weddington argued in the courts, presumptuously on my behalf, that women should be allowed to obtain a legal abortion. The courts did not ask whether I knew what I was asking for. The abortion decision that destroyed every state law protecting the rights of women and their unborn babies was based on a fundamental misrepresentation. I had never read the affidavit and I did not know what an abortion was. Weddington and the other supporters of abortion used me and my circumstance to urge the courts to legalize abortion without any meaningful trial which addressed the humanity of the baby, and what abortion would do to women… My real interests were not their concern."
McCorvey added, "As the class action plaintiff in the most controversial U.S. Supreme Court case of the twentieth century, I only met with the attorneys twice. Once over pizza and beer, when I was told that my baby was only 'tissue.' The other time at Coffee's office to sign the affidavit. No other personal contacts. I was never invited into court. I never testified…. The entire case was an abstraction."
Christine Melchor, Executive Director of the Houston Coalition for Life, stated, "I urge any woman considering abortion to be skeptical of whether the abortion industry is really looking out for her best interests. Norma McCorvey knows from her experience being used by supporters of abortion and through working in the industry herself that these people continue to exploit women to further their financial and personal agendas."
Melchor will also challenge Planned Parenthood's CEO, Peter Durkin, to address unanswered questions regarding the true agenda of Planned Parenthood, deceptive information promoted by his organization, and startling facts that it has covered up.
Over one hundred concerned citizens from all over will be participating in a protest on the public right-of-way in front of the fundraiser and awaiting a response to their long-standing concerns.

THE LARGEST MASS GRAVE IN AMERICA?

LOS ANGELES (ANS) -- Yesterday was the 20th anniversary of the sealing of what many regard to be the largest mass grave on American soil. (Pictured: Rich Buhler).
There isn’t anything that points you to the site in the Odd Fellows cemetery in East Los Angeles. You have to search for it, but it’s there on the east side of the grounds marked only by a flat gravestone that says “IN MEMORY OF THE 16,500 PRECIOUS UNBORN BURIED HERE. OCT 6, 1985.”
The story that led to the burial came to light in February of 1982 when workers opened a large shipping container that had been repossessed from the owner of a medical lab in Southern California. It was filled with buckets of the results of thousands of abortions.
Los Angeles county supervisors faced a dilemma about what to do with the remains and a feminist lawsuit that went all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court ordered that they couldn’t be buried with religious ceremony because that would be taking sides in the abortion debate.
But on October 6, 1985, the date of the burial, there was a crowd of us who had independently come to do what the county could not do: honor the lives and mourn the deaths of the children being laid to rest.
I had the privilege of being one of those who participated in the service that day and it was an overwhelming experience as we stood at the graveside of thousands of children who by that time would have been three years old and playing in the Southern California sunshine.
During the ceremony, County Supervisor Michael Antonovich read a telegram from President Reagan. In it Mr. Reagan likened the Supreme Court decisions legalizing abortion to decisions that upheld slavery prior to the Civil War. He said, “Once again a whole category of human beings has been ruled outside the protection of the law by a court ruling which clashed with our deepest moral convictions."
That telegram got fresh national attention during the confirmation debate around John Roberts’ nomination to be the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. As associate White House counsel in 1985 he was asked to review the text of President Reagan’s statement.
For several years, the grave of the babies was unmarked because of conflict over what to say on a gravestone. I had the privilege of again being a part of the service that later dedicated the memorial marker.
In my remarks I speculated what the demographics might be of the children buried there. If they were representative of the nation as a whole, about 8,000 of them were boys and 9,000 were girls. Had they lived, 1,600 of them would have been left handed, nearly 4,000 of them Catholic, 2,300 Baptists, and more than 160 Episcopalians.
About 1,600 would have become teachers, more than 13,000 high school graduates and more than 3,500 college grads. Nearly 2,000 would have been executives, 1,600 in sales, and a little more than 2,000 would have been professionals.
These are woefully unscientific numbers, but illustrate the fact that these children were not the medical equivalent of amputated limbs or surgically discarded cartilage. Until abortion intervened, every one of them was alive in safety of their mother’s wombs and had beating hearts. Some of them were old enough that you could have seen whether they had grandpa’s dimple or momma’s nose. Where the comparison with the national population breaks down the most is with race. Because of the locations of the clinics where their abortions took place a disproportionate number of the children were minorities.
Yesterday, I paused to think about the children buried in the Odd Fellows cemetery. I try to drop by and visit their grave whenever I can. Not only to remember them but the more than 100 million other babies who like them have been the deprived of the opportunity to experience birth and life but who unlike them do not have a grave.

Italian Coma Victim Awakens After Two Years, Says He Heard Everything

Rome, Italy (LifeNews.com) -- A man who had been placed in a coma for two years as a result of an automobile accident recently awoke and told doctors and his family that he heard and understood everything going on around him during the time.
Salvatore Crisafulli, a father of four, describes his case as a "miracle" proving that lost causes are not hopeless.
"The doctors said that I wasn't conscious, but I understood everything and I cried in desperation," Crisafulli, who is 38, told Italian media outlets Thursday.
Although the situations are not entirely similar, Crisafulli's brother Pietro called the recovery "an Italian Terri Schiavo case."
He emerged from the coma three months ago and began speaking recently -- his first word was "Mamma."
The news comes at the same time as a national bioethics committee in Italy put forward guidelines saying that incapacitated patients should be provided normal medical care, including food and water.
"To feed an unconscious patient through a tube is not a medical act," the committee's president, Francesco D'Agostino, said, according to a Reuters report. "It's like giving a bottle to a newborn baby who can't be nursed by its mother ... And then we reflect on the Schiavo case. The woman was left to die of starvation."
"My brother speaks and remembers. I don't expect that he will be like he was, but it's already a miracle," Pietro told the Italian Corriere della Sera newspaper. "And to think that some doctors said that it was all useless and that he would be dead in three, four months."

Tuesday, October 25, will be the second annual Students' Day of Silent Solidarity.
On this day, according to the group's website, "students from hundreds of campuses in both the United States and Canada will take a vow of silence to express their contempt for the murderous act of abortion that has claimed one-third of their generation and continues to take the lives of over 4,000 babies per day in the United States alone."
"Thousands of American babies are permanently silenced every day by the violent act of abortion," said Bryan Kemper, president of Stand True Ministries. "This day is in honor of those children, and we will stay silent as an act of solidarity with these innocent victims."
Not only will students be silent, but they will also wear red armbands and or red duct tape on their mouths and distribute educational flyers to anyone who asks why they are silent. Many home-schooled students will also participate in the event by visiting local malls and other public areas to distribute flyers.
"This year's response to this event has been astounding," said Kemper. The event is a month away and we have commitments to participate from students and groups at over 350 campuses throughout North America.
"These students are excited to have a united opportunity to stand up for the babies with fellow students from around the country in a peaceful and effective manner," said Kemper. "We have received many e-mails from students thanking us for giving them this opportunity, and telling us how excited they are to promote the event."

We have seen the hand of God move as the hearts of those who opposed the nomination of Judge John Roberts were swayed to vote in favor of his appointment (the Kings heart is in the hand of the Lord, like the rivers of water he turns it...). I believe this is a direct result of the intercessions of the Saints and not by political lobbying (although, don't stop lobbying- We need both!) In Vermont both our Senators voted Yes for this appointment! Before the hearings Sen. Leahy was one of the vocal opponents of this nomination! Why not call or write a thank you to Senator Patrick Leahy and Senator Jim Jeffords! Please continue to pray for Pres. Bush to make "God's Choice" for this next nomination. Pray that He is resolved on a pro life appointment, and that he is not swayed by other councel! We also must continue to pray that God strengthen this nominee and prepare him or her for the hearing process. I don't believe this process will go as easy(?) as the last hearings. Those who are opposed know they have a lot to lose and will be relentless in their attack! We must pray for the protection of Chief Justice Roberts mind and heart and for wisdom in leadership and that all of the supreme court justices will be under Angelic covering and that Demonic influences would not cloud righteous judgement. The battle is in the heavenlys and the church holds the keys to the destiny of this nation! Lets not back off! WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN AN OPEN DOOR, LETS NOT MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY TO "STAND IN THE GAP"... In our conversations, we both discovered we'd suddenly felt led to be highly protective in prayer of our President, George W. Bush. . .almost like a mother bear is protective of her cubs. I saw myself "spiritually" covering President Bush, almost as the Secret Service might cover him if there were shots being fired. Only, the shots I saw fired were both from the Church (from those who disagreed with some of his decisions) and from those who were against him based on their political stance.From the mind and heart of God, protecting the President in prayer is the same, whether you're protecting him from well-meaning Christians (who are speaking against Him), protecting him from those who are against him anyway, or protecting him in prayer from those that would even physically harm him.I believe with all that is within me that our president is a praying man, and he is FOR the United States of America, like few other presidents before him. But know this, I would feel called by God . . . I just know it . . . to pray for our president, even if he or she was someone I disagreed with.We are told to pray for Kings and all in authority, and personally -- almost selfishly -- I'd prefer not to reap the "withdrawing of God's Grace" that some will have to experience because they are speaking evil against an authority (in this case, the President and Mrs. Bush) whom God has placed at the top of the most powerful country in the world.We should also pray for every other leader that God places on our hearts in every other country that God places on our hearts.Finally, I feel led to point out and pray that the wisest and most brilliant counselor President Bush has is his own wife, Laura Bush. What she brings to this country through her counseling of the President -- her own husband -- will one day only be known in eternity. Please pray without ceasing for both President and Mrs. Bush. This prayer is not based on agreement nor disagreement with certain policies, but because "God said so" to us. With that in mind, Lisa sent me a write-up of what she was seeing recently, as we compared notes with one another last night (and from the last few weeks). P.S. During the reign of another president, before this one, I used to hear people speak the most vile and unkind things toward him. I noticed that almost everyone of these people, their marriages were suffering as they spoke against this man in authority. I began to observe that grace was withdrawn (seemingly) from their lives and marriages for a season, almost as though it were connected to their reviling of authorities that were placed over us in this country. I would say, "let the reader be exhorted."
President Bush then said to this Monstrous Storm called 'Rita' -- 'Not on my Watch!' -- Lisa Doyle
LISA DOYLE: In my earlier conversations last week with Steve Shultz via email and telephone, I felt strongly that the forecasted devastation of Hurricane Rita could be lessened through the power of prayer. Later, I found out that this was in agreement with what many other prophetic voices were speaking at the same time. This is part of what I experienced and saw last week and over the weekend. In a vision, I saw the Father bending His ear from Heaven to listen to the response of this nation in reference to the impending devastation of Hurricane Rita. Heaven was most certainly poised, listening and waiting for our response and then, for the response of the Father as He looked down upon His saints.Then, what I saw was President Bush leading an army of prayer warriors. This army of prayer warriors, commissioned as the Saints of God, were composed of all types and gender, known and unknown, great and small (although, those that saw themselves as small were very large in the sight of the Lord, and in fact carried some of the greatest weight in Heaven). Their cadence of this army was firm and strong. And their songs, their prayers, their cries, and their focus was this as they humbly, yet determinedly marched in unison to petition before the Throne of God on behalf of the region and to set up a prayer shield around the people, their families, their property, and their possessions.
"If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now, My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place. For now I have chosen and sanctified this house, that My name may be there forever; and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually. As for you, if you walk before Me as your father David walked, and do according to all that I have commanded you, and if you keep My statutes and My judgments, then I will establish the throne of your kingdom, as I covenanted with David your father, saying, 'You shall never fail to have a man as ruler in Israel.'" -- 2 Chronicles 7:14-18 NKJV
The President's Cry for Mercy
As the vision further continued, I then looked again to President Bush, and I saw that he was focused and determined and that his jaw was set like flint, as he headed toward the gulf region. Behind President Bush were the prayers of the saints, propelling him forward, as he shook his head in determination. President Bush said to this Monstrous Storm -- called "Rita" -- "Not on my Watch!"
Momentarily, I then flashed to a secret place where I saw our President on his knees, behind closed doors, humbly praying and asking the Lord to spare the already devastated areas of the gulf region, impacted by Hurricane Katrina. "Mercy!" he cried out for, as a tears gently cascaded down his cheeks. Next, I became aware that many leaders in high governmental positions (national, state, and local elected; appointed; and contracted positions), within our military, those in the media, businessmen, and women had joined in prayer, meek and the broken, and were on bended knee crying out for mercy, grace, and for the love of God to move in and intervene on behalf of this nation. I then bore witness with the spirit of God, that salvation had gone forth, that there were many who had given their life over to Jesus Christ, and many that had rededicated their lives for the purpose of the Kingdom. A number of these were within our government, political arenas, big businesses, and military. God had moved strategically and miraculously behind the scenes.Suddenly, I saw that George Bush and all the saints of God had gotten the attention of Heaven. I then saw the Father, the Great Ancient of Days, sitting upon His Throne. He looked down from Heaven, and He bent down as He pointed His finger towards the gulf. A command and a shout went out from Heaven, anointed with the power of God to diminish and lessen the storm called Rita. Angelic Hosts were released to divinely help those still in harm's way and to help administer heavenly anointing, heavenly provision and heavenly help during the continued rescue efforts and rebuilding for those who had suffered from Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita.
The Bowls of Incense Poured Out on the Earth
Future miracles were released, specifically in the areas of rebuilding, financial healing, physical healing (many who have had no resources for medical aid before the storms will now), cleansing, and deliverance of land to be use to release His Glory more fully on the earth. The poor, the meek, and the brokenhearted had found favor with the Lord, and no longer would they be the last. But instead, they would be the first in line to receive the benefits, aides, and provision being released at this prophetic moment in time.A knowing within my spirit told me, "Clearly, the Saints of God and President Bush had found favor with the Lord and that the bowls of incense, which are the prayers of the saints, were filled in Heaven and were now being poured out further upon the earth, in a greater way."
Although we do not fully understand it, we know that through these two hurricanes, more of the Lord's Glory is being released within this nation, as a foretaste of the great reformation and revival to come. And some of you are already experiencing this around you. You may be beginning to see the ever increasing birth pains.
Please Saints, continue to pray. Heaven needs your prayers to help continue to fill the bowls of incense. In short, I believe the Lord has revealed that this impending reformation and revival of the "Church at Large" will be greater than all the accumulations of past revivals; this nation has a call to help lead it.
"What is it That You Desire?"
As this part of the vision began to fade, I then heard a call from Heaven, an intercession call, on behalf of President Bush, his Family, and those areas that the Lord has given him charge over. Please agree with me in prayer, for that which the Lord was revealing through the vision and also for the protection and safety of him and his family, during this very strategic time. The following is what I witnessed and heard. First and foremost, I heard that George Bush had found FAVOR in the sight of the Lord and that He was well pleased with him for his heart of repentance and love, his efforts, his diligence, his strength and stamina in the midst of trial, and for his unwavering heart of love for the American people. I was then reminded of the scripture listed above from Chronicles where the Lord was speaking to Solomon; as I pondered this, I again saw President George Bush in his secret place, humbly before the Lord in prayer.
I then saw the Lord gently whisper a question to the heart of the President: "What is that you desire George?" Instead of asking for anything of himself, his heart cried out for mercy; grace; protection to spare us in the midst of storms, trouble, and war; for a healing; a restoration; and deliverance of his country, the United States of America.
This prayer was so pure and so selfless; it moved upon the Lord's heart of compassion on behalf of this nation. This humble prayer also released a gift and new talents in untold proportions to President Bush.
Gifts, Anointings, and Talents Were Poured Out
The gift released was wisdom, much like Solomon was anointed with, yet at a greater proportion. And the talents released were specifically in the areas of economic budgeting and stability and negotiating with world leaders -- in the areas of energy related matters, with an emphasis on oil. I heard that George Bush would help solve the energy crisis and current and impending oil shortages.
"And God gave Solomon wisdom and exceedingly great understanding, and largeness of heart like the sand on the seashore. Thus Solomon's wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the men of the East and all the wisdom of Egypt. For he was wiser than all men--than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol; and his fame was in all the surrounding nations. He spoke three thousand proverbs, and his songs were one thousand and five. Also he spoke of trees, from the cedar tree of Lebanon even to the hyssop that springs out of the wall; he spoke also of animals, of birds, of creeping things, and of fish. And men of all nations, from all the kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom, came to hear the wisdom of Solomon." -- 1 Kings 4:29-34 NKJV
"So the LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as He had promised him; and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon, and the two of them made a treaty together." -- 1 Kings 5:12 NKJV
Other areas of anointing, talent, and expertise I saw released to President Bush were:
1. Strategic military strategy to help root out and expose terrorist groups and activities.
2. Discernment and wisdom in reference to nuclear arms. I saw the Lord bringing allies to help in this arena, especially in reference to North Korea.
3. I saw what you would call a serendipity anointing released to President Bush. where he would inadvertently fall into key and strategic pieces of information. at a national and international level. that would expose those against this nation, Israel, England, Switzerland, and other allies.
Serendipity: an apparent aptitude for making prosperous discoveries accidentally.
4. Wisdom to help guide and direct this nation in issues, such as same sex marriage, abortion, healthcare reform, border control, Social Security tax reform, tax reform, budgeting, arms control, and education, to name a few.
5. Unity anointing released to President Bush to be disbursed throughout this nation and internationally. I saw the Lord anoint President Bush's mouth, much like the coal being touched to the lips (Isaiah 6), to speak forth the Lord's heart that would captivate, soften, and turn some of the most harden of hearts toward the things of the Lord and His will.
"Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, The beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the LORD commanded the blessing -- life forevermore." -- Psalm 133:1-3 NKJV
6. Favor with the military and governmental elected officials within this nation and internationally, with a special emphasis on Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkey, Japan, China, Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Chile, North and South Korea, France, Germany, and Russia.
7. Above all, that he would be filled with the love of Jesus Christ and a light to shine into the most darkest of places.
"You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." -- Matthew 5:14 NKJV
A Presidency Like None Before Him
I then saw the approval rating of the President in Heaven reach the maximum. President Bush had captured the Heart of the Father, and the Father approved of His son George. And with the American people, I saw his approval rating begin to climb in his Presidency and into the years that followed. Finally, the Lord allowed me to view the President's performance through historical accounts, and in these historical accounts, unwritten as yet, it marked President Bush as one of the most successful, capable, compassionate, caring, and loving Presidents in our Nation's History. He was known as a man who would not waver and a man of his word, who knew how to love much and knew how to demonstrate that love on a global level. President Bush, much like he stepped and took authority over Hurricane Rita, powered by Heaven and the prayers of the saints, has the anointing, the talent, and the resources to help bring the glory of the Lord to America, in an unprecedented and significant way -- especially in the areas of governmental and political arenas, big business, media, and our military -- during the remainder of His Presidency and well into the years that follow. Please agree with me in prayer that the Lord will truly pour out His tender loving goodness and kindness upon President George Bush and that he would fulfill all that the Lord has for him to do. A fellow warrior in the cause for LIFE, Jami Sims, sent me this information about pregnant mothers caught in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina:
Christy Anne Dickson, director of the Crisis Pregnancy Support Center in Texas City, TX, wrote to tell us about what they’re doing to help the families who are finding themselves in Texas after the hurricane. Many of the women are pregnant, and they are being advised to abort. Families literally have nothing to help them care for their children. This center is stepping in to provide help and support. They are putting together bags holding one week’s supply of diapers, baby food, formula, baby wipes, bottles, spoons and bowls, disposable changing pads, lotion, powder, oil, shampoo, you name it. They’ve committed to providing 500 of these packets, to begin with (more as the Lord enables). These will be distributed at the shelters to families with babies.
In addition, they hope to set up fully supplied diaper changing stations at each shelter, with communal rocking chairs. And, since families will soon be moving out to other locations, they’re trying to supply moms with fully stocked diaper bags for each infant and toddler still in diapers.
They are collecting money to purchase these items. Contributions are tax deductible. Mark your gifts “disaster relief fund.” This is a natural for those of us who are already involved in this type of ministry.

Dear Readers:
As you know, Apostle Dutch Sheets carries a tremendous prayer burden for our nation. Below is a proclamation that he and others have written regarding the American judiciary. Please heed this call.

Dear Intercessors,
It is a season of great change in America. We are experiencing great crises and great opportunities. The death of Supreme Court Justice Rehnquist has presented us with a tremendous opportunity to shift the court. If Roberts is confirmed, and another good judge is nominated and confirmed after him, the balance of the court would change. Also, many of us believe President Bush will ultimately appoint a third Justice. This is the season and opportunity we have awaited for many years. We must not miss it.
In light of this opportunity and the power of biblical declarations, several other prayer leaders and I have written the following proclamation. We are asking you to join with thousands of Christians around the nations to daily decree this proclamation over the courts of America. Please distribute this to all praying Christians that you know.
Special thanks to Sandy Grady, Craig Lotze and especially David Barton of Wallbuilders, for their help in preparing this proclamation.

Proclamation Concerning the American Judiciary
Whereas, our Constitution established a form of government that has made America the longest on-going, constitutional republic in the history of the world.
Whereas, the framers of our government acknowledged the hand of God in the formulation of the government, established under the Constitution. For example, political scientists confirm that the Bible was the single, most cited source in the writings of the Founding Era; Constitution signer James Madison declared, "It is impossible for the pious man not to recognize in it (the writing of the Constitution) a finger of that Almighty Hand which was so frequently extended to us in the critical stages of the evolution." And Declaration signer and Constitution ratifier Benjamin Rush, similarly pronounced: "I do not believe that the Constitution was the offspring of (Divine) inspiration, but I am perfectly satisfied that it is as much the work of a Divine Providence as any of the miracles recorded in the Old and New Testament."
Whereas, the Constitution establishes three separate branches, defines the role of each branch, and gives all policy-making powers to the elected legislative and executive branches but not the unelected judicial branch.
Whereas, the Federalist Papers the work that explained to Americans the scope and powers under each clause of the Constitution clearly set forth the limited powers of the judiciary in these words: "The judiciary is, beyond comparison, the weakest of the three departments of power" and "The judiciary, on the contrary, has no influence over either the sword or the purse; no direction either of the strength or of the wealth of the society; and can take no active resolution whatever. It may truly be said to have neither force nor will" (Federalist #78).
Whereas, the judiciary has rejected these constitutional principles, and instead, usurped the powers of the other two branches, legislating from the bench with the Supreme Court's own Justices describing the court with such terms as "a super board of education for every school district in the nation," amateur psychologists on a "psycho-journey," and "a national theology board."
Whereas, the Constitution created a protection for religious expressions, but the Supreme Court has now substituted a new standard that requires the aggressive secularization of the public sphere, thus creating a segregation of faith from official public life, including a repudiation of the Biblical principles, practices, and acknowledgments incorporated into public life by the framers of the Constitution, thereby scorning the solemn warning by Thomas Jefferson, querying, "Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just: that His justice cannot sleep forever."
Whereas, our original judges and justices were typically and deeply religious. They were openly God-honoring individuals, often invoking Scriptures in the courtroom and frequently belonging to organizations, such as the American Bible Society in order to help promote the distribution of God's word across the nation.
Whereas, the court now, not only rejects biblical principles, but also the American governing documents that inculcate so many of those principles, and instead embraces the standards of aggressively secular foreign nations that have renounced traditional faith and morality, instituting those God-hostile standards as the new basis for American law.
Whereas, the so-called culture war's issues--the protection of unborn human life, the sanctity of marriage, the preservation of public standards for morality and decency, the protection of private property, public acknowledgment of God, and many other concerns--are now decided by unelected, unaccountable individuals rather than by "We the People" under the "consent of the governed" as stipulated in our governing documents.
Now therefore, we as a vast body of believers in God's Word, arise and say:
"Courts of America, no more will you continue on this path!"
We declare:
Equal justice under God's law for all including the helpless and the unborn, according to Psalm 82:3-4
The restoration of righteous judges and counselors, according to Isaiah 1:26
That justice and righteousness will be the measuring line and the level for the laws of the land, according to Isaiah 28:17;
That the fear of the Lord will be upon our justice system, according to II Chronicles 19:7
That America's judges will fear and honor God, according to Psalm 2:10-12
That according to Deuteronomy 16:18-20, wisdom and discernment will be used in the appointment of judges, and that America will appoint judges who know the laws of God as stipulated in Ezra 7:25
According to Isaiah 42:1-13, we declare and proclaim the Lord God Almighty as Our Supreme Judge over our courts in America.

The Cause USA is leading a team comprised of young people from The Cause, MorningStar Ministries, The Fire School, and Flames of Fire to do relief work in Livingston Parish, Louisianna.
We have relationship with five churches in the area between Baton Rouge and New Orleans that have opened their doors to those in need since the Hurricane. Our team will be partnering with them in serving the families and children who have come to take shelter in their buildings.
In addition to delivering much needed supplies,
our volunteers will be cooking and serving 3 meals a day, providing childcare service and grief counseling for people displaced by Katrina.
Our first team is leaving for Louisianna on Sept. 7 and will stay for a week, a second team will return to the area in about six weeks.

For Such A Time As This

It is in these times that key men and women, even entire generations, risk everything to become...the hinge of history... that pivotal point that determines which way the door will swing. "

There is a fresh stirring in the land. It is as if God is raising up a generation of young people who have a desire to see the enemies of justice and righteousness pushed back at the gates of our nation. These are those who will possess the gates of our enemies. They are not satisfied with the "slackness of our Christian culture in a decadent society." They want to become as "athletes of the Spirit, enduring the necessary disciplines and self-sacrifice to become Champions"..."The bearers of tomorrow"..."those who carry the future on their shoulders"-Walter Wink.
Today there are counter cultural dreamers who have a prophetic call like David to slay the giants of our day! Like when David and his armor bearer climbed the Philistine garrison and slew the enemy! They were the forerunners who stirred up all Israel to come out of their caves of hiding and into the frey to push back the enemy out of their land! We as Christians have all but withdrawn from our involvement in our society. We as the church are not called to be as a thermometer blending in to the current settings of society, but to be as those who set the temperature and influence society in a righteous way!
But now, like the Philistines said..."The Israelites (CHRISTians) are coming out of their caves." Is there not a cause?
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said four decades ago, "All it takes is a God-intoxicated people, one generation, to alter the course of history from then on."
If there ever was a time when your prayers and actions can make a difference in our nation, I believe it is NOW! We have the ability to see the ending of abortion and to restore a Culture of Life back into our society! Bound4LIFE will be joining together across America in a grassroots movement to pray, vote life, and practice acts of God's justice and compassion in helping to see the healing of our Nation! It's not too late for America! Together we can be the History Makers who pay the price and become the hinge that closes the door on this Holocaust which has ended the lives of 50,000,000 unborn Americans since 1973. Your prayers can make the difference!
As Dr. Seuss' Horton found out, the whole world can be saved by the smallest of all! Every voice does count!
There is a 22 word prayer that is currently being prayed by over 85,000 people across America! The significance of this prayer is its length and that in 1962 there was a 22 word prayer taken out of our public schools by the U.S. Supreme Court. You can pray this new prayer that was written to reverse the Haman decree of '73 (Roe v Wade) which legalized abortion in America!
"Jesus, I plead your blood over my sins and the sins of my nation. God, end abortion and send revival to America."
31 days before the 2004 elections Lou Engle and a band of young people were led to the U.S. Supreme Court. They put tape over their mouths with the word Life written on it. They soon realized the prophetic significance of it being 31 years since Roe v. Wade. They believed that the Lord was leading them to lay a silent Siege against the Supreme Court (Ezek. 4) for the ending of abortion in America. The LIFE-tape has now been made into LIFE-bands (like the Livestrong bands) and are available through BOUND4LIFE. Seeing the band reminds you to pray the prayer! Many are praying this five or more times a day.
Eventually there will be thousands of us joining together at the Statehouse, Courthouses and Abortion Centers across Vermont! The Red LIFE-tape on our mouths will be identifying with the Silent screams of those who cannot speak for themselves! Our appeal to the Highest Court of Heaven will be identifying with the sins of our nation and pleading for mercy with a better blood than the blood of our guilt. We will also be breaking the Church's silence in becoming the prophetic voice that God has called us to be in a society filled with decadence.
The Church will become freed from the shame of our past and communion will cleanse the Land all across America. Could this prayer movement usher in the revival we have been praying for? We will see the end of the government sanctioned "Great American Holocaust!" The future prophets and leaders of our churches and nation, (our children and grandchildren) are in the balance... the enemy wants to destroy them! Is there not a cause? If we do our part, we can see the things in God's heart manifested and justice will flow like a river and righteousness will spring forth! We must claim God promises that "He will restore our judges as at the first!"
Rosa Parks was one person who changed history in the 60's. Her action of remaining seated on that bus began to end the injustice towards our black brothers and sisters. Her voice and actions helped launch a whole Civil Rights Movement. Your voice and actions can end an injustice too! It is believed that the second abortion case of 1973 will be reheard in the Supreme Court in the next 1 to 1-1/2 years. Will we stand with Sandra Cano when this case is heard?
