Matt Blunt's (R) direction, the state is implementing a new program that promotes abortion alternatives by a revolutionary new hotline. The toll-free number, 1-800-AID-U-171, instantly connects expectant moms with a menu of services, including medical care, housing, child care, substance abuse treatment, job training, parenting classes, and education options. "I believe we have an obligation to support expectant mothers and protect the sanctity and dignity of human life," Blunt said. Once the program is fully operational, it should serve as a model for other states that want to support women with easy and confidential alternatives to abortion.
