"...I was always taught I have two patients: the mother and the baby. Why would I want to send somebody out to hurt their baby?"
In what is believed to be the first comprehensive survey of the moral attitudes of physicians, a new survey of doctors nationwide by University of Chicago researchers finds 52 percent said they oppose abortion and others wouldn't refer women considering an abortion to a place that does them. According to the report in LifeNews, the survey also found some physicians believe it is appropriate to withhold information about abortion on moral grounds.
Dr. Gary Smith, an obstetrician and gynecologist at the Women's Health Center at Robinwood in Hagerstown, Maryland, who does not do abortions or refer women to doctors that do, told the Baltimore Sun: "They know it's an option. They don't need me to tell them abortion exists. I was always taught I have two patients: the mother and the baby. Why would I want to send somebody out to hurt their baby?"
"Jesus, I plead your blood over my sins and the sins of my nation. God, end abortion and send revival to America."

New Hampshire Committee Votes to Silence Parents
We have been following this one for a year and a half ... seems our neighbors in NH don't have a very family friendly House Judiciary Committee!! Things have changed!!! We pray the the legislature will have more common sense to uphold the Family over that of an often scared and confused under-aged pregnant teen who needs guidance! ~Glenn

New Hampshire Committee Votes to Silence Parents
While nearly a dozen states debate laws that would expand parents' rights, the New Hampshire legislature is working overtime to undermine them. Since 2003, the Granite State has had a parental notification law on the books, requiring at least one parent to be informed 48 hours before their minor daughter has an abortion. Planned Parenthood, concerned that the law would scare off business, challenged the measure in court on the grounds that it didn't include a health exemption for the mother. Ultimately, the suit landed in the U.S. Supreme Court, where, in January of last year, the justices reversed a ruling that had struck down the law. Now the state legislature is fighting to repeal the law, insisting that the government--not moms or dads--should be the ultimate authority on matters that affect children's health. Yesterday, the House Judiciary Committee voted 12-5 in favor of abolishing a parents' right to know. From there, the measure will go before the full state House for a vote and, if successful, could be signed into law by Gov. John Lynch (D) as early as March. If the appeal passes, the court case is moot. When FRC attempted to alert our supporters in New Hampshire to the urgency of this issue, we were informed that unless our organization had a lobbyist registered in the state, we were forbidden from e-mailing New Hampshire voters. Obviously, the government is intent on silencing those that would expose their strategy to suppress parents on an issue as vital as teen abortion. In fact, some leaders consider the whole matter of parental notification a distraction from state business. As Rep. Liz Hager (R) said, "Let's get this expensive, unconstitutional problem behind us." However, the true expense will be the toll on innocent, human lives should the state erase a law that serves to give young girls pause about killing their unborn babies. Our friend Karen Testerman, head of New Hampshire's Cornerstone Policy Research, is circulating a petition in hopes of persuading elected officials--not to change their position on abortion, but to uphold parents' rights. Hi Glenn,
Thank you for your work and for your willingness to make physician-assisted suicide a matter of prayer and action. Below is a copy of the Vermont Alliance for Ethical Healthcare's current newsletter. Since we met this noon I have learned that a bill has also been introduced into the Senate, suggesting that the proponents of PAS are planning for the big push. So the need for prayer and action may be more urgent than I suspected.
Bob Orr
VAEH Newsletter # 41 January 2007
Dear Supporter of the Vermont Alliance for Ethical Healthcare,
As expected, the proponents of legalization of physician-assisted suicide in Vermont have introduced another bill (H-0044, available at http://www.leg.state.vt.us/docs/legdoc.cfm?URL=/docs/2008/bills/intro/H-044.HTM.HTM).
We have been successful in keeping similar bills from getting out of committee for the past 4 years. We anticipate this year to be the "bigpush" by proponents.
They have several factors on their side this year: (1) major financial backing from national "Death With Dignity" organizations such that they have hired several lobbyists, (2) significant changes in the VT legislature, (3) media bias in favor of PAS, and (4) fatigue on the part of those of us who oppose this measure. Their lobbyists have been able to put on TV ads and orchestrate multiple letters to the editor in various Vermont newspapers.
The VAEH is planning several ways to educate new legislators, including one-on-one meetings with key individuals, providing books to pertinent committee members, and providing DVD's with "Vermont Voices" to all new legislators.
But the real need is for a loud grass-roots voice to be heard by everyone (via letters to the editor) and especially by legislators (by personal contact, letters, e-mails, phone calls).
We cannot afford the expensive measures taken by proponents of PAS. So we rely on you to do this work for us. I expect you all know the reasons we oppose legalization of PAS, but if you need a refresher, visit our website: www.vaeh.org.
At this point, the key legislators who need to hear our concerns are those on the House Human Services Committee and the House Judiciary Committee (see below), regardless of whether you are in their district. And your own state Representatives and Senators need to hear from you; contact information can be found at: http://www.leg.state.vt.us/legdir/legdir2.htm.

VRLC PRAYER BREAKFAST
Here is a photo of me speaking with Dr. Alveda King (niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.)
She is a Pro-life advocate who had 2 abortions, suffered post-Abortion trauma, and a consequent divorce and she says... abortion related breast cancer.
She shared that women who have had an abortion are 50 % more likely to get breast cancer later on in life.
She is now healed. She knows it was Jesus who healed her spirit, soul and body.
She preached the gospel and gave her testimony under the VT Capital at the recent Rally for Life in Montpelier. ~Glenn
