Urgent - To America

I am speaking now for my own personal perspective and not from any ministry I lead.

This past several weeks I posted a video stating that I could never voted for John McCain because he had voted for the funding of embryonic stem cell research. I have made a vow that I would not be a participant in either the shedding of innocent blood or in the taking of any life at any stage. It is my conviction that fertilized embryos are living cells. As we know, today there are walking living human beings that were once embryonic stem cells that could have been killed for research purposes...

As for me, and not my ministry, I remain steadfast in my earlier conviction that I cannot vote for John McCain. I would like to include a part of James Dobson’s statement concerning McCain because there are obviously other issues involved.

You may ask me, “Shouldn’t we vote for McCain because he is certainly better than Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama?”

My answer is maybe you should, but I have been praying that God would drive the abortion issue like a wedge into this nation. Why should I take the wedge out by softening my stand? If the church came out in mass and united behind a true pro-life candidate, like Mike Huckabee, it would forever make a statement to the Republican Party that we are not yours we are God’s. Maybe it would be better to lose an election than to have another Missouri Compromise that keeps dumbing down the issue and will eventually bring us to divine judgment because we have ceased to become the conscience of the nation. What is better, a compromising Zedekiah, or a hostile Nebuchadnezzar? God was able to do more with the pagan king Nebuchadnezzar than he could with the compromising king of Judah. Maybe our thinking is all humanistic and we believe in politics more than the power of prayer.

French Court: Parents Can Register Names for Fetuses

"The ruling is triggering a storm over the issue of abortion in France, with pro-abortion activists arguing that the ruling gives pro-life activists a strongly emotional argument for the humanity of the child, by indicating that a fetus at any stage has a right to a name....

(Paris, France)—France's supreme court has ruled that parents of miscarried or stillborn children can register a name for the child, no matter what stage of development the child was at the time of miscarriage or birth, reports the AFP.

Previous to this most recent ruling, parents in France were allowed to register a name for miscarried or stillborn children, but only after 22 weeks gestation, or if the child weighed over 1.1 pounds.

This new ruling gives parents the right to claim the body of their child, which, until this point, was incinerated by the hospital along with other waste tissues. It also allows the mothers of miscarried or stillborn children to claim maternity leave. (more)

Abortion Leaders Admit that Pro-Life Arguments are Convincing

LOS ANGELES, January 24, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Two of the nation's most influential pro-abortion leaders have admitted publicly that the pro-life movement has convincing arguments that pro-abortion forces have no response to.

In an opinion piece published by the Los Angeles Times on January 22nd, Frances Kissling and Kate Michelman write that the phrase "culture of life", coined by Pope John Paul II, has had a significant impact.

"To some people, pro-choice values seem to have been unaffected by the desire to save the whales and the trees, to respect animal life and to end violence at all levels," they write.

"Pope John Paul II got that, and coined the term 'culture of life.' President Bush adopted it, and the slogan, as much as it pains us to admit it, moved some hearts and minds. Supporting abortion is tough to fit into this package."

The authors' also admit that the pro-life movement's focus on the unborn child and its attempts to limit access to abortion have worked, both politically and socially. They lament that "Twenty years ago, being pro-life was déclassé. Now it is a respectable point of view."

Significantly, they acknowledge that the strategy of showing people photos of the gruesome reality of abortion is working, despite the fact that it has been a matter of controversy among some pro-lifers. "In recent years, the antiabortion movement successfully put the nitty-gritty details of abortion procedures on public display, increasing the belief that abortion is serious business and that some societal involvement is appropriate. Those who are pro-choice have not convinced America that we support a public discussion of the moral dimensions of abortion," the authors write.

Such frank admissions of the power of pro-life arguments are significant, coming from two of the most important figures in the pro-abortion movement. Kate Michelman was the president of the National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL), the original and most influential pro-abortion organization in the United States, with the possible exception of Planned Parenthood.

Frances Kissiling was for many years the leader of "Catholics for a Free Choice," an organization repudiated by the Catholic Church, that promotes abortion, sodomy, and fornication, and fights to eliminate the Vatican's observer status at the United Nations.

A Dream Not Yet Fulfilled

Today we celebrate a man who contributed greatly to both this nation and to the world. Dr. Martin Luther King's non-violent movement against segregation and injustice in the United States has inspired many to follow in his footsteps to fulfill the deeply rooted "dream" he spoke of, "that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: 'We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal.'" There is irony in that Dr. King's observed birthday today comes the day before the 35th anniversary of the Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton, which forcibly legalized abortion in the United States. The legalization of abortion was the culmination of a dream of Planned Parenthood founder and icon Margaret Sanger. In 1939 Ms. Sanger started the "Negro Project." The aim of the program was to restrict, many believe exterminate, the African-American population, under the pretense of "better health" and "family planning." By all accounts her efforts have been highly successful. Statistics from the Guttmacher Institute (named after Sanger friend and fellow eugenics advocate Alan Guttmacher) show that African-American women account for 32 percent of those getting abortions nationwide, while they make up just 13 percent of the population. Additionally, 94 percent of all abortuaries are located in metropolitan areas, which generally have high African-American populations. Reverend King's niece, Alveda King, recognizes this genocide and speaks out valiantly against it. We must all work together to make sure that more future leaders like Dr. King are not exterminated before they are born. It is up to us as a society to decide if the dreams of freedom and equality, or the nightmares of Margaret Sanger, will prevail.

If we are open to truth...We can see that an organization usually follows the dream/vision of its founders! God's word says:
If the first piece of dough is holy, the lump is also; and if the root is holy, the branches are too. (Rom. 11:15)
The opposite is also true, even if you dress it up differently. Unholy... ultimately produces bad bread / bad fruit & barrenness! If we are honest we can see the bi-products in peoples lives. Unless there is repentance of wrong motives...the same spirit remains!

In an encouraging, and informative article, Brownback discloses the good news that recent studies have shown there is no need to destroy the innocent lives of the unborn with embryonic stem-cell research. Brownback cites a statement by Dr. James Thompson, asserting that science can pursue "the most promising stem cell research without killing, or even using, human embryos."
