REVERSE THE DECREE OF 1973

By Lou Engle

Meditation:

“Now Esther spoke again to the king, fell down at his feet, and implored him with tears to counteract the evil of Haman the Agagite, and the scheme which he had devised against the Jews. And the king held out the golden scepter toward Esther. So Esther arose and stood before the king, and said, ‘If it pleases the king, and if I have found favor in his sight and the thing seems right to the king and I am pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to revoke the letters devised by Haman, the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to annihilate the Jews who are in all the king’s provinces. For how can I endure to see the evil that will come to my people? Or how can I endure to see the evil that will come to my people? Then King Ahasuerus said to Queen Esther and Mordecai the Jew, ‘Indeed, I have given Esther the house of Haman, and they have hanged him on the gallows because he tried to lay his hand on the Jews. You yourselves write a decree concerning the Jews, as you please, in the king's name, and seal it with the king's signet ring; for whatever is written in the king's name and sealed with the king's signet ring no one can revoke.’” – Esther 8:3-8

Reflection:

In the book of Esther, Haman released a death decree against the Jews to extinguish the purposes of God in that generation. Similarly, in 1973, a decree of death was released against unborn children, under the guise of judicial review in the infamous Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision, to hinder the purpose of God in this generation. For 33 years, we have co-existed with Haman’s gallows, but I believe the time is up!

Over the past thirteen days since this fast began, there have been over 1.25 million hits on Facedown40.com. Possibly thousands of people around the United States and the nations of the world are fasting together with us. There is an uprising!

I believe that the river of God is again swelling with justice. In the last two weeks, extraordinary events have taken place around our nation. South Dakota, Mississippi, Indiana, Tennessee, and now other states have or are in the process of incredibly limiting and banning abortion. Just a few days ago, a US Senator called me and said, “Encourage your praying people; what is taking place right now is unprecedented. More is taking place today in the nation since Roe v. Wade was passed.”

Similarly, a major Christian leader in New England, Brian Simmons, called us to encourage us in our fasting and prayer. In the dream, the voice of the Lord spoke to him saying, “You need to know the name of the governor who signed the bill in South Dakota. His last name is significant.” Brian Simmons awoke from the dream and found out that the name of the governor of South Dakota is Governor Rounds.

Could it be that the abortion is coming around again and that it is in its final round? And could it be that what is going on in South Dakota could make its “rounds” in every state of the Union?

The Church must pray and fast and seize the day. The pulpits must become alive with the sound of abolition. Teachers must teach the truth concerning the shedding of innocent blood. Compassion ministries for pregnant mothers and preparations for adoption must spring up in the body of Christ before abortion becomes illegal. Godly prophetic activism must fill every state.

Last night, a sister had a dream of women wailing and crying out, “Wake up Mother Teresa! Wake up Mother Teresa!”

The Church must be a movement of adoption. Caring for mothers and children must swell.

I believe we are in a moment of time as significant as the hour of Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation. Through our prayers and activism we are writing a new decree reversing Roe v. Wade for we were “...brought into the kingdom for such a time as this.”

I close today’s devotional to encourage those who feel so led to intensify their fast and time of prayer in this three-day season of Purim from March 13 to March 15 (see yesterday’s devotional). Today, on this fast, let us together target the reversal of Haman’s decree of 1973 of Roe v. Wade.

Prayer:

Jesus, we humble ourselves before you in this season of fasting and prayer. We have sinned against You in the most grievous way. We have shed the innocent blood of our own children, a sin for which you have destroyed nations and empires. Remember the blood of your own Son that speaks better than the cry for judgment and vengeance. Our only hope is Your great mercies and that you remember Your covenant with our fathers. Come now! Move on our behalf! Rule over the Supreme Court Justices. We call forth the prevailing influence of the kingdom over these nine Justices. We call forth the shaking and shaping of the throne of a pro-abortion Justice and the promotion of a pro-life Justice in their place. We pray for President Bush. We declare that he will nominate only pro-life Justices. In Your great mercy, Amen.

Mar 6, 2006 :

The law is scheduled to take effect on July 1st, 2006.

In a ground-breaking decision today, South Dakota governor Mike Rounds signed into law a bill that would ban all abortions in his state, except in the case of women who would need an abortion to save their lives.

According to the CNN report, the measure is a direct challenge to the 1973 decision of Roe v. Wade that legalized abortion.
The new law takes effect this summer and states that doctors in South Dakota who perform an abortion will face up to five years in prison.

Bill to Ban Abortion Passes in South Dakota Senate - Historic Legislation Now Goes to Governor Rounds for Signing

by Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney / Aimee Herd reporting :
Feb 23, 2006 : Christian Newswire, Christian Defense Coalition http://www.earnedmedia.org/cdc02221.htm

"Our hope and prayer now is that Governor Michael Rounds will sign this bill and send a clear message to the other states to affirm the dignity of life."

The Christian Newswire, yesterday, reported that the legislation to ban abortion in South Dakota passed in the state Senate, after a similar bill easily passed in the House. The measure will now go to South Dakota Governor Rounds to be signed into law.

Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, director for the Christian Defense Coalition, commented, "We applaud the courage of the South Dakota legislature in voting to ban abortion and end this tragic violence against women an
d children. With several states waiting in the wings to ban abortion, momentum is clearly building nationwide to overturn Roe.

Polls are showing that more and more Americans are becoming uncomfortable with abortion and the overwhelming majority of our nation's young people feel abortion is ‘immoral'. Even Senator Hillary Clinton has stated abortion 'represents a tragic choice for many women.'"

"The optimism in the pro-life community also surged yesterday when the Supreme Court agreed to hear a case on banning partial-birth abortion," Mahoney added. "All of these things indicate that Roe is slowly, but surely, being chipped away at. Our hope and prayer now is that Governor Michael Rounds will sign this bill and send a clear message to the other states to affirm the dignity of life."

Mississippi Joins Burgeoning Movement to Ban Abortion - Governor Says He Would Sign the Bill

"The current movement to ban abortion in the states and challenge Roe v. Wade is an historic and unprecedented one - and it is picking up steam."

Earlier this week, the Mississippi House Public Health committee voted to approve a ban on abortion, much like the South Dakota bill that recently passed. The measure will move on to the full House to be voted on next week, then, if it is approved, to the state Senate. (Pictured: Operation Rescue's Truth Truck visits an abortion center in Mississippi.)

According to a report on Operation Rescue's website, Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour said he would sign the bill into law if it made it to his desk. Some of the other states that are looking at legislation to ban abortion are: Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

Troy Newman, president of Operation Rescue, said, "These are exciting times for those who support the sanctity of human life. The current movement to ban abortion in the states and challenge Roe v. Wade is an historic and unprecedented one - and it is picking up steam. We do not believe that Roe can withstand wave after wave of frontal attacks from so many states."

Supreme Court Decision is Pro-Life Victory over N.O.W.

http://www.breakingchristiannews.com

by Joe Scheidler / Aimee Herd reporting :
Feb 28, 2006 :
Christian Newswirehttp://www.earnedmedia.org/plal0228.htm

"This unanimous ruling is not just a victory for pro-life activists, but for anyone who chooses to exercise his First Amendment rights to effect social change."

The lawsuit NOW (National Organization for Women) v. Scheidler (of the Pro-Life Action League) was originally filed in 1986 and underwent many revisions before coming once again before the U.S. Supreme Court this week. Matt Staver, president of the Liberty Counsel, explained the original argument:
The case of Scheidler v. NOW was brought by NOW against several pro-life protestors, claiming that the protest activities of several pro-life individuals and groups were in violation of RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations) and the Hobbs Act.

In order for RICO to apply, there must first be a violation of one of the laws listed within RICO. One such law that abortion advocates have relied upon is the federal law known as the Hobbs Act. The Hobbs Act prohibits extortion, which is defined as the improper obtaining of property from another. Abortion advocates argued that pro-life protestors committed "extortion" by picketing their clinics.

The Supreme Court decided today that physical violence or threats of physical violence unrelated to robbery or extortion fall outside the scope of the Hobbs Act, and thus the protestors' actions could not be considered violations of the Hobbs Act, and therefore did not violate RICO. The Court ordered for judgment to be entered in favor of the abortion protestors.

In a statement posted on the Christian Wire Service site, Joseph M. Scheidler, National Director of the Chicago-based Pro-Life Action League, and Petitioner in the NOW v. Scheidler case, said, "Naturally I am gratified to be vindicated once again by the United States Supreme Court."
"I am mystified that I had to go to the trouble and expense of appearing before the Supreme Court three times," Scheidler added. "The Court was right when they ruled for us 8-1 in 2003, but the National Organization for Women refused to acknowledge defeat. They convinced the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals to keep the case alive, in spite of the Supreme Court's clear mandate to end it."

Scheidler's attorney on the case, Thomas Brejcha, commented, "This unanimous ruling is not just a victory for pro-life activists, but for anyone who chooses to exercise his First Amendment rights to effect social change."

"BREAKTHROUGH OCCURRING IN THE NORTHEAST PART OF THE NATION AND IN THE COURTS"

WINDS OF AWAKENING ARE BLOWING...we must discern the times and act accordingly~ Glenn Taylor

February 24, 2006
-- Dutch Sheets

Dutch Sheets Ministries
www.dutchsheets.org

We have reached an amazing point in our quest to turn America back to God and His purposes for her. Great momentum has been produced by the prayers of the Church. An especially encouraging report is the breakthrough occurring in the Northeast part of the nation.

I was involved in an amazing meeting in New Haven, Connecticut, January 19-20, 2006. What the Lord said to New England and the Northeast in this meeting actually began in October and November of last year.

In October, I was given a dream. The setting of the dream was New Haven, Connecticut, and Gateway Christian Fellowship, led by Brian Simmons. Chuck Pierce was with me in the dream. The Lord instructed me to decree three things:

Miracles would come to the house
Miracles would come as a result of covenant
The region would be baptized into the miraculous

I’ll come back to the dream, but first I must mention another word from Chuck Pierce to the region. In November of 2005, Chuck was ministering in New Jersey. In the meeting, those present began asking Holy Spirit to stir up the Wind of God in northern New Jersey. They decreed that the Wind of Awakening for the churches, state, and region (touching New England and New York) would blow.

Awakening Wind

The Lord began to speak, “I say to you do not fear the snow. Even in the time of snow the wind will begin to blow. When this wind reaches 67 miles per hour, you will know that one season has ended and you are entering into your future. I say, let the Wind blow!” The Lord later referred to it as the “Awakening Wind.” On January 19-20, 2006, the Lord, in His sovereign timing, used Brian Simmons to bring Chuck and me to New Haven to minister the message given to me in the dream. The day before we arrived, the wind was recorded at 68 mph. The headlines of the paper in Connecticut read, “Blown Away.”

Only the Lord could have had the wind blow the day before our meetings all over New England, and the original colonies of our nation, as a sign that the season has changed, and NOW is the time for awakening. There will be a move of the Spirit characterized by miracles, signs, and wonders. The winds hit as a sign, scheduled perfectly by the Lord, to precede the public declaration. We made the declarations given in my dream, as the Lord instructed, and the crowd from all over New England resounded with a shout of agreement! When speaking to me (a few years ago) the Lord referred to New England as the “womb of the nation,” and this womb is definitely open. Expect to see incredible things!

U.S. Government Breakthrough

Concerning breakthrough in turning the U.S. government, nowhere is it more visible than in the Courts. The speed with which it has been happening is almost mind-boggling. With two Supreme Court Justices having been replaced, the balance is quickly changing. With one more change, which I predict will occur this year, we will have seen a 60-year stronghold broken in one year. Of course, the overall process has actually taken much longer, with only the fruit coming quickly. The anti-life forces see the handwriting on the wall. In an article found on Reuters, Carey Gillam states:"It was just a typical week in Middle America where the decades-old debate over abortion rights has become a full-blown battle. But even as they continue to raise money and march around state capitols, the view from the 'pro-choice' side is that this is a fight they are losing. The Senate confirmation to the U.S. Supreme Court of conservative jurist Samuel Alito, who is favored by anti-abortion advocates, is seen as a key turning point. Yet it is only the latest in a series of blows to abortion rights advocates. The pro-choice groups find themselves facing a virtual avalanche of state legislation that ranges from laws banning abortions in almost all circumstances to laws limiting the disbursement of birth control and restricting sex education.President George W. Bush is a vocal supporter of the anti-abortion movement. Conservative church groups across the country increasingly oppose abortion."

Will Roe vs. Wade be Dismantled?

“I think Roe, in the short term, will be dismantled,” said Nancy Keenan, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America. “We have an anti-choice president, an anti-choice Congress and now…with the confirmation of Judge Alito to the Supreme Court, we are seeing the potential for a very right-leaning, anti-choice Supreme Court.”

In another interesting article, Phillip Jauregui speaks of the effectiveness of our prayers with great poignancy:

"The prayers of the saints have inflicted a devastating toll on the spiritual forces that have held this Nation in bondage by ruling over the Supreme Court. The spiritual forces of wickedness that have reigned over this Nation through the Supreme Court are reeling like a dazed boxer. The round after round after round pressing of intercessors has worn these forces down to the point that they are ready to fall to the canvas. Now is not the time to fight as we normally fight. Now is the time to go for the knock-out. Now is the time to pray with ferocious force and confidence."

Jauregui’s final point brings me to the heart of this communication. Now is NOT the time to let up in our prayers. I recently received a letter from a trusted friend and spiritual leader, Jay Comiskey, emphasizing this point. God has been speaking to him through WW II’s Battle of the Bulge. Here, in his own words, is his warning and exhortation:

"The D-Day invasion (June, 1944) was a significant breakthrough for the Allies. However, six months later in December, they were panicked by the surprise attack of Hitler’s forces in the Battle of the Bulge. Hitler launched a massive counter-offensive that caught everyone off guard. I believe the Lord is telling us to prepare, listen, and pray for the next battle on the Supreme Court. I believe our resolve and courage will be tested as never before."

"In retrospect, we know the Battle of the Bulge was truly the 'last gasp' of the enemy. However, this surprise offensive by Hitler baffled Allied commanders and caused a panic. Unprepared troops were sent into battle. Everyone was caught off guard by the magnitude of the fierce attack. America lost 19,000 soldiers in this one battle lasting six weeks. We should soberly reflect on this great battle. . . ."

Where are We in the Battle for the Supreme Court?

"We are standing between our 'D-Day Victory' and the soon coming 'Battle of the Bulge.' The tide has turned in our favor for the battle for the Supreme Court, but I believe the Battle of the Bulge reminds us that often the enemy’s last battles are their most desperate and vicious."

"I am confident we will prevail in the third strike. I believe the Lord Himself has declared: 'Three strikes and they’re out!' Nevertheless, I believe Holy Spirit is calling us to a higher level of alertness, waiting on Him, and listening before the battle begins!"

Jay Comiskey continues, "Dutch, I believe we are being called into the Lord’s War Council to hear His counsel and wisdom. His strategies are beginning to come forth! Let’s enter in and listen!"

I concur completely. Let’s be proactive, not reactive. My friend and co-laborer, Chuck Pierce, gave me the encouraging word recently that the governmental prayer movement is no longer simply discerning the times and praying accordingly. We have reached such a place of strength and authority that we are creating the times and seasons-–in accordance with the will and plan of God, of course. My determination is that we will not be as the king who smote the ground only three times, resulting in partial victory. We will go all the way, striking in intercession until we prevail fully (see 2 Kings 13:14-19).

Let’s press in as never before. We have “hit our stride” and can finish the race by seeing one of the greatest seasons of change in America’s history. When we do, we will hand the fruit to Christ--to whom all praise is due--and we will hand the fruit to our posterity that will inherit a different America.

Yours for the Cause, Dutch Sheets

PRO LIFE CANDIDATE ANNOUNCES RUN FOR CONGRESS

Two-term Bennington County Senator, Mark Shepard, has announced that he is a candidate for Vermont's lone seat in the US House of Representatives.

Shepard, a Republican, will face a contest with Martha Rainville in the Republican primary this fall. Shepard spoke to the press about his views on abortion last week.

Excepts taken from the AP in a piece by reporter David Gram:

In an hour-long interview last week with reporters from The Associated Press, Shepard said he hoped the race would be more about issues than about a widespread perception that he is more conservative than (Martha) Rainville. "I don't think it serves anybody," Shepard said of the conservative label. "I think what's better to do is talk about what people stand for, talk about the issues, and who they are as people."

One issue on which he disagrees with Rainville is abortion. As she announced her candidacy for Congress last week, Rainville said she supported abortion rights, but also supported efforts to curb the number of abortions.

On that topic, Shepard said simply, "I am pro-life." And even on that score, he questioned whether that makes him a conservative. "I think every human has huge worth. I would be anti-slavery as well,"
he said. "Maybe it is a liberal point of view."

JOIN US IN FASTING & PRAYER
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
>>CONTENDING FOR>>>>>>> HARVARD>>>>>
>>AND ALL UNIVERSITIES>>>>>>>>>>

The Uprising has begun. From March 1 to April 9, we are calling all students and young adults to scrap their Spring Break plans and come to Boston and make Harvard a flashpoint to contend for the universities of this nation.

For too long, students have cowered under the shadows of the giants of secularism, humanism and pluralism, but that time is now up. A generation is rising that refuses to live in the shadows of these giants, but believes for an alternative future of campus awakening and reform.

For these 40 days, we will be praying and worshiping day and night around the clock. We believe that now is the hour for massive fasting and prayer to be directed toward the universities for the in-break of the Kingdom, to resist the agenda of secularism and humanism, and for the release of a new Student Volunteer Movement of missionaries from universities.

This season will be intense both in fasting and prayer, but it will be of eternal significance. So whether you come for one week during your spring break or come for the entire 40 days, make plans now to join Lou Engle and other national leaders for the Uprising!

For years during spring break, a generation has known to feast and play. Now it is time to fast and pray!

For more information concerning The Uprising from March 1 to April 9 and for those interested in being part of the core group of intercessors for the entire 40 days, please email info@jhopboston.com. More details concerning the Uprising will be posted here.

Alito Sworn-In as 110th U.S. Supreme Court Justice

by Jane Roh / Aimee Herd reporting Jan 31, 2006 FOXNewshttp://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,183270,00.html

Chief Justice John Roberts, also new to the high court, administered the Judicial and Constitutional oaths.

According to the FOXNews report, President Bush had words of affirmation for Justice Alito soon after the Senate vote.

"Sam Alito is a brilliant and fair-minded judge, Bush said, "who strictly interprets the Constitution and laws and does not legislate from the bench. He is a man of deep character and integrity, and he will make all Americans proud as a justice on our highest court."

Ayotte v. Planned Parenthood of Northern New England [04-1144]

~SCORE ONE FOR THE SAINTS: GOD BE PRAISED!!!

~ONE ON BEHALF OF SAVING BABIES!

~LETS PRAY FOR GODLY JUDGEMENT WHEN IT HITS THE LOWER COURT!

"I believe this case is the beginning of the removal of the facade of Deception that will allow abortion to be seen at face value for what it really is!"
~Glenn Taylor

Ayotte v. Planned Parenthood of Northern New England
Docket Number: 04-1144
Abstract

Argued:
November 30, 2005

Facts of the Case
After New Hampshire's state legislature approved the Parental Notification Prior to Abortion Act but before the act went into effect, Planned Parenthood of Northern New England challenged the law in federal district court. They claimed that the law, which requires that parents be notified before their minor daughter has an abortion, violated the "undue burden" test laid out in Planned Parenthood v. Casey , a 1992 Supreme Court decision that reformulated the constitutional protections given to abortion in Roe v. Wade. Specifically, they argued that an exemption in the law for abortions necessary to prevent the death of the mother, but not for those abortions necessary to protect merely her health, was unconstitutionally narrow.

The federal district court agreed, rejecting the argument of New Hampshire's Attorney General that the judicial bypass procedure included in the law, in which a judge could approve an abortion without parental notification for a minor who showed she was mature enough to make the decision on her own, could be used to permit abortions necessary to protect the health of the mother. The judge also rejected New Hampshire's argument that the law could not be challenged until it had actually been implemented. A First Circuit Court of Appeals panel unanimously affirmed the decision.

Question Presented
May Planned Parenthood of Northern New England challenge the constitutionality of the Parental Notification Prior to Abortion Act in federal court before it is put into effect? Does the Parental Notification Prior to Abortion Act, through the judicial bypass procedure or other safeguards, adequately protect the health of minors seeking abortions?

Conclusion
In a rare unanimous decision regarding abortion
, the Supreme Court sidestepped the most contentious questions of the case and focused instead on the proper remedy when a portion of a statute is found unconstitutional. Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, writing for the Court, held that the statute would be unconstitutional when applied to the very small percentage of minors for whom an emergency abortion would be necessary to avert serious damage to their health. The lower court's decision to invalidate the entire statute based on its unconstitutional results in this small percentage of cases, however, was unnecessary. Instead, O'Connor wrote, "in this case the lower courts can issue a declaratory judgment and an injunction prohibiting [only] the statute's unconstitutional application."
O'Connor warned, however, that a court should be wary of upholding an act while strike down some of its applications when it was obvious that a legislature would prefer the entire act be declared unconstitutional. Because of some disagreement about which course the legislature would have preferred - wholesale nullification or narrower individual rulings -
the Court remanded the case to lower court to determine legislative intent.
